Glenmaggie & Coongulla

Scenic surroundings at Lake Glenmaggie...

Glenmaggie has a population of approximately 289 and Coongulla approximately 297 but both communities swell to many times their size in peak holiday periods. Glenmaggie is situated on the West side of Lake Glenmaggie whilst Coongulla can be reached from the East side, both only a few minutes drive from Heyfield.

Whilst Lake Glenmaggie was originally constructed for the benefit of both the sugar beet and dairy industries a very pleasant by product of it's creation has been the development of a popular holiday destination. In summer months and long weekends tourists flock to the area to relax and enjoy the many recreational activities Lake Glenmaggie has to offer.

Get into Nature...

Visitors can caravan, camp or rent holiday homes in both Glenmaggie and Coongulla right on the edge of the water. Boating, waterskiing, fishing and swimming are all regularly enjoyed by holidaymakers and locals alike.

The Blores Hill Mountain Bike Park is only minutes away. It boasts tracks of varying difficulty for the most dedicated mountain bike riders to family groups. Blores Hill also has tracks for horseriders and bushwalkers and the view of the surrounding areas from the Trig Point is breathtaking.

There is an abundance of flora and fauna to be found and all these enjoyable and relaxing activities are undertaken whilst nestled against the stunning back drop of the Southern Alps.
